Learning Loss

Learning Loss

Learning Loss can best be described as any specific or general loss of knowledge and skills or to reversals in academic progress, this happens due to extended gaps in the learning process. We have often discussed the “Summer Slide” but know we must couple that with the “Covid-19 Slide.” In countries where there are extended vacations and breaks as we have in the United States the learning loss is significant, so I think is not logical to talk about a problem without trying or having a practical resolution.

I think it is important for parents to support learning. As educators we must equip parents to support the scholars. Some parents are not knowledgeable of learning loss research or all the resources that our available to them. I unequivocally represent the general body of educators that will and do whatever it takes to bring our scholars up to speed academically but in these times the diligence and dedication must extend outside the classroom! Here is a helpful link for educators to use in supporting parents as well as empowering them…
